My father-in-laws truck got broke into, Now I need to replace the weatherstripping in the drivers door. The piece that goes around the window and down into the door is the piece I am replacing. The truck is a 2005 3500.

I have a Dodge Repair manual on CD and it shows how to do it for the most part, I was just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on doing this. In the intructions it talks about removing the Waterdam and if it is damaged or gets dirty at all I need to replace it. Is it possible to not damage this or should I get a new one of these also? I have to remove the doorpanel, glass, window regulator, all kinds of stuff.

I am usually pretty good at figuring things out, but I am wondering if this is better left for a body shop.

Any tips on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

Hell Joe, if you have the repair manual you're probably way ahead of the kid at the body shop. Just take it one step at a time, don't let the size of the project spook you,

and you will do fine.

What a busy week. I forgot to come back and post that I completed the project. It wasn't that difficult. It only took a little over an hour.

The repair CD that I have had good directions. It went just like they said.

How much was the new setup?

I want to replace the two front seals on mine. If I can get the new style with the plastic air dam (goes up the windshield to cover the gap between the window and the door) that would be cool.

I have a bunch of tape on foam door seal on the drivers side to keep the wind noise down when I have the camper on. Dealer replaced the factory seal twice. . Never did fix it. :(
