I had posted a thread regarding the rpm gauge acting erratic between 750 and 500. I initially thought it might have something to do with a bad FCA, CrankShaft Position Sensor, rubbed AC wire, Fuel Filter, etc. Well I am chalking this up to bad fuel. I just got back from a trip up to Oklahoma and back down to Houston and average 22 mpg. All stock. RPM's are steady now!
Something else I wanted to pass along to those who might not include this in their maintenance routine is, clean the radiator fins. I always just sprayed them off but when i took a closer look I could see lots and lots of debris trapped between the fins. I used a small wire brush (looks like a toothbrush) to remove a lot of this. When I made a stop during my trip I got out and walked around to the front of my truck and could really notice, that the air being pulled in by the engine was much more noticeable. It just sounded much happier. just wanted to pass along.
