We have a 2001 Ram 3500 that we bought used in 2002 with 19,0000 miles. We have 88,000 miles now. It had an exhaust brake installed by the previous owner and we are the second owners. When we bought the truck I noticed a placard that said the ECM was reprogramed in 4/01. Change Authority # was 1801500. Would the install of the exhaust brake require the ECM to be reprogramed? I asked the salesman about this and he he didn't know anything. Does anyone know how to get more info on this?

That is a tsb for winter fuel use and hard start concerns :D

Your exhaust brake on that year will get it's power from pin 20 on the ECM any time there is no throttle applied. When throttle is applied the 12 vdc on pin 20 is disabled. ;)

I think the 1801500 for TSB 18-015-00

It was dated Dec 21, 2000 for Driveability Enhancements For Winter Fuel Use and For Hard Starts
