i bought my pickup used in 05, but under the hood is a sticker that says "dealer authorized updates" or something along those lines. anyway, in that sticker it says reprogrammed pcm and gives the date(1/22/03). then on the actual pcm is a sticker that says software update and the same date. just wondering what this means exactly and why it was reprogrammed/updated.

any time a dealer or anyone updates a module they have to give the new part number if they don't they can get fined big money. all that sticker means is that the pcm has been updated with the most current software as of the date on the sticker. most likely done during a recall

If you look at the sticker it should reference the authority to perform flash with either tsb# or recall# most likely an 01 pcm would be for a tsb.
