I know this question gets played out WAY TOO OFTEN! But, because I don't have the information and money to just blow trying to determine what would work best, I figure I would ask you folks.

I just installed the TST #6 on my 94 Auto. I don't have the gauges installed yet (don't worry, I'm not really driving it either) I’m just waiting for the paint to come in from the dealer. What my question is, I'm using Auto meter Phantom's and currently have all 3 common gauges in that series, but the boost gauge is the 20vac & 30 boost. I know there is a phantom that goes up to 35. I had requested that one, but the distributor sent me the wrong one. I opted (because I didn't know what boost this would make) to select an Ultralite 60psi boost gauge when I re-ordered instead of the 35psi Phantom.

Now for the question. Would the truck stay under 35 psi with the setup I have, or should I use the Ultralite gauge. I don't really like the different gauge, and didn't know it was silver faced gauge (ugly in my opinion) and would have preferred to stay in the Phantom series. I just don't know if the 35psi will be enough. The TST Video said something about 30ish psi with the replacement fitting. I just don't want to go around pegging gauges and not know what the truck is doing!

Thanks folks,

Corey

.02 worth

I am running a 98 12v that is bone stock except for a 3. 5" exhaust and a blocked wastegate. I can hit 29 PSI on a 60# Diprocol boost gauge at WOT, 3rd & 4th gear. I would assume that after pump, injector and timing tweaks, it may go as high as 40 PSI, but it remains to be seen. A 30-35 PSI gauge would be too little for my application, but I suppose we are kinda comparing apples to oranges here.

Dang straight, Bin Laden, and have a pork chop with that fish, you scumbag:D

A number six in your 160hp auto should put you around 230hp. I don't think you will exceed a 35PSI gauge. My friend has a 94 175hp manual and with a #5 plate and I think he sees just over 35.

I'd say go with the 35PSI gauge for now, but after more BOMBing :) it may be too small.

I'm running a #5 plate in a 94 3500 auto and I'm not approaching anywhere near 35 psi. I don't drive with my right foot in it either.

Even when towing my 30' fifth wheel I'm not near that level of boost.
