I was wondering if there is a market for used stock turbos and what it would be worth? what does everyone do with their take offs? might make a great salad shooter :-laf .

It'd be sort of fun to try converting it into a turbine engine, you've already got the compressor and the turbine, just need to fabricate a combustor and a regulator to control RPM's.

Something similar to this maybe: http://www.asciimation.co.nz/beer/
Or depending on how much thrust it can make maybe put it on a go-kart.

Try ebay... should bring decent money.

BTW it is not an Hy-35. Yes, it is like an hy35 but it is an HE351W.

Calling it an Hy35 could throw someone off that is looking for a replacement Hy35 for their truck.

The HE351W is not a bolt on unit for a 2nd gen truck that needs an Hy35 as a replacement.

FYI...

No one took it the wrong way, what moderator Parks did was remove a for sale post that is in direct violation of TDR guidelines. Your post is okay, MWoody's was not and that's why it was removed.

I personally hang on to all the stock parts just in case you decide to get rid of the truck or something. I never planned to get rid of my 03 but certailn reasons required me to go to something with fewer tires, so rather than to trade in a truck with all sorts of high dollar stuff that would get me nothing I stripped it and saved the parts either to sell or use on the new truck. Kinda hard to trade in a truck minus a turbo! :-laf

Was it getting expensive to replace tires? :-laf What about your newly installed PDR cam?

Anyhow, if you keep the stock turbo and are interested in mega-bombing, there are some twin turbo kits being sold that use the stock turbo... food for thought. That's why I still have my stock turbo (as well as a slightly bigger than stock turbo now)... you just never know about the future!
