Understanding my P7100

I don't even have my HX-40 installed yet, and I've already had two email inquiries asking if I wanted to sell it. #ad

So, I'm wondering... what's the going rate for an (in my case, nearly new at 8000 miles) HX-35 with the stock 12 cm2 housing?

I'm not sure I even want to sell it, and I certainly won't until the HX-40 has been detonation-free for several weeks, but I figured I'd ask.

Thanks!

Rob

I'd highly recommend hanging on to the HX35 until you drive your new '40 around a bit. When I tried the '40 I was shocked at the loss of throttle response, drivability and fuel milage. I really had to lay into the throttle to get any boost at all. EGTs went down some, but boost went up very little. At this point I'm not sure why everyone thinks the HX40 is so great. For any thing less than 3/4 throttle it wasn't too good for my ETH.

I'd like to know this also. Mine has about 40,000 miles on it.

Bart Timothy, what mod's do you have on your truck?

Maybe that's why so many people liked to use Majestic to do whatever it is they do to the HX-40. BUT, after all the trouble I saw people having with blown up HX-40's, I decided to bypass them and order from Diesel Dynamics instead. Besides, if Majestic every gets their act together, it could still be sent to them.

I'm also curious to know more about the hybrid HX-35/40 that some people have built.

The main reason I went ahead and got the HX-40 now was the $400 price increase being reported by many vendors... I had to grab one of the last ones at the old price.

I'm very happy with my HX-40... no significant difference in lag between it and my HX-35. I start getting boost at just above idle and, when I need it, more than 40 lbs peak (wastegate not tweaked yet). Not only that, but it sounds like a jet engine with the psychotty. Majestic hasn't touched it by the way...

I'm in the same camp with Vaman on this one. I drove mine as noted in my signature for about a week before I installed my DTT VB/TC. During this time, I noticed the same thing as Bart Timothy, having to "get on it" to get a response. However, after the VB/TC were in and the stall speed was brought down to about 1500rpm, the engine is under load immediately upon pushing the go pedal. Boost and acceleration are right there. Basically "fixed" the lag problem.
