Routine check for codes on the odometer gave me a 1693 and 0216. Dealer, who has always been competent and honest, said diagnostic computer had no codes present. Got Qzilla Commander with fuel pressure and read 3 psi on stock lift pump. Installed FASS HPFP, now Commander reads 16 psi, 14 at WOT. Never a problem starting or driving. Still have the 1693 and 0216. Will disconnecting batteries for a few hours blank these out. Seems like everyone else with 0216 has significant drivability changes. Would like to know if these codes are left from previous issue, or there is still a problem.

Or should I try another dealer?

Any reason code would read on odometer but not on dealer computer?

thanks

Matt

If it is running correct and mileage is normal, then reset the codes and drive it.

The code will return I bet. Then the VP44 pump will need to be changed out.

Low fuel pressure is a bad thing with the stock pumps.

MMathurin, You can't erase the P0216 code by disconnecting the batteries, you have to use an OBD tool. I've erased the P1740 code before by disconnecting the batteries but when I got the P0216 it wouldn't erase it. I had the P0216 code come up but I had dead peddle, surging, and rough high idle to go along with it. I ended up putting a rebuilt VP44 in mine. If you don't have any driveability issues just have someone with the OBD scan tool erase it and see if it logs the fault again. If it comes up again, be ready to put a VP44 in. I don't understand why the dealer can't see it if it is coming up on your odometer. It should be a logged fault.

Regards, Mike.
