reseting codes?

How do I reset my codes? I tried unhooking the battery terminals but the codes are still there.

You need a OSB II codereader that has the erase codes feature.

Inactive codes will also reset after six restarts. The check engine light will go out but will still be in history unless it's cleared with an OBD2 scanner.

On my '00 I was told you could disconnect the battery and unplug the connectors on the computer on the firewall passenger side. This would reset everything. Is there any kind of similar setup or do I deffinatly need a code eraser? If so from where and how much?

The ecm has flash memory so unplugging stuff will not erase it.
