I did a search before posting and couldn’t find anything on this, so my apologies if this has already been covered.
My 2014 3500 Tradesman dually would make an extremely loud and obnoxious resonant vibration during a hard acceleration with the toy hauler in tow. It would only last a few seconds until it passed through the rpm range that excited the vibration. Sorry, I never noted the rpm, transmission gear, or speed, I was usually merging onto the interstate or occupied with the matter at hand. The noise was coming from behind the cab, so I shotguned the problem with very good success. Did three things, not sure if one or all was what did it, but happy with the results.
· Used Peel & Stick from Lowes and lined the inside of the fenders on the bed to dampen the vibration.
· Attached the plastic fender liner to the brace rod with a wire tie, it was flapping loose against the rod.
· Installed two additional fasteners to secure the fender liners on each side. They were loose.
It worked, resonant vibration gone, what a relief.
