"resonated" exhaust tip?

Prolly a dumb question, but what exactly is a 'resonated' tip?

It's a duall wall tip and the inner wall has louvers in it like a muffler does, supposed to be quieter, but I never could tell a difference in the ones we tested.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a 6" exhaust tip to put on my factory tailpipe. Do you guys sell any? I didn't see any that size on your website, but may have missed it. Thanks again.
