Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Resonator or catalytic converter

I have a 01 per sig. I lost my resonator some time back, I need to know is that a cat converter or a resonator and where I can get another one cheaply. Any and all help would be appreciated. TIA 6naline01

If your truck was built for sale in Cal. it had a convertor on it. All other 01 24 valve cummins had a resonator, or second muffler. Twogun

I call BS.

My truck is an 01 Cal or 50 state bla bla bla... and it had a resonator.

Rip at Source Automotive has been installing a second muffler for folks who want to quiet things down in place of the resonator.

You qouted me but obviously didn't read the quote. I said maybe I was wrong on the 01's as not having cats, my 02 would have had one built for CA. Better point, when did the regs. change, Jan of 01 with early builds being exzempt maybe? Maybe no 01's had them I just don't think calling it BS serves a purpose. Twogun
