hi all, i restacked my LSD about 1. 5 years ago and 7k miles. i added a whole tube of friction modifier to synthetic lube. It jumps, hops and jerks like crazy and clicks and snaps some too. my questions are what is it going to tear up, how long will it last like that? should i change the stack some so that it isn't quite as aggressive??... although i can go just about anywhere in two wheel drive!!!

I am wanting to do that to mine too. How hard is it to do that & do you know where instructions are to do a restack of the LSD. I'll be curious what the right amount of additive is to make it feel good.

don't really have the directions here in front of me... i found a basic how to here on the TDR. first time doing it, it took me about two hours. you do really need two people to re-torque the case bots, or some type of jig to hold the thing while re-torquing. i do remember that there are concave type spring washers that have to be put in the right way... i think that they provide pressure on the clutch packs when the case is tighened up. it really helped the traction alot... but i am suspect about the life of the thing now!

if you alter all the disc the only thing you will tear up is your tires and you cant make the chirping go away with any amount of additive you need to un alter 4 discs a side to keep it tight and chirp less but it will still tear up tires.

that is what i am wondering, cause i am eating through tires (but my truck always has)... but the tires don't seem to slip muck in a parking lot in a tight turn something snaps and clips and the truck jerks when it does... that is my concern, is the clutch pack that tight now that it snaps when it slips, or am i tearing something else up?
