Got the SW updates for the three outstanding recalls including emissions. I'm headed on a highway trip in 10 days and I will post the performance results. Share yours here.

After a 700 mile trip, the result is 26.2 mpg at 70-75 mph or about 1 mpg less than before. This truck has lost 3 mpg over 50000 miles since new and prior to this SW update. The most noticeable change is increased turbo lag. After startup, I have to wait 1-2 minutes before starting up my steep driveway and then floor the accelerator pedal otherwise the truck will bog down on the hill and the turbo will not spool up.

Is it the same lag if the engine is at operating temp?
There has been cold engine turbo protection software on the Cummins also

I definitely feel a different software. Aem sofware. It's a welcomed difference though. I am very dialed into these things as I race another car... feels to me like they made the throttle mapping a bit more linear which I like. I definitely dont feel any power difference at all just pedal travel (muscle memory) at low rpms feels different. Makes it much easier to modulate the throttle. Honda does this with civics too where they call for 80% load at 20% throttle to make their cars feel more responsive. It sucks. BMW does a sublime job tuning this ZF transmission and it felt like crap in the ecodiesel... the tcu update makes it feel a but better and the throttle mapping changes were probably to help offset the mpg loss due to the reintroduction of the emissions logic to the dme... which I also have had no issues with. Overall, it was quick and painless and the car feels different but great.

I am not seeing much different mpg. Just averaged 26mpg on a 360 mile trip. I had just done the same trip about 2 months prior to the aem and got the same exact 26.0 mpg figure on that trip. If anything l, its maybe a 1.pg less difference. No big deal people... why you would sell such a fantastic and versatile car is beyond me. 90% of peoples issues are probably the 15yr old their dealers have wrenching on the cars...

When they did my AEM V08/V11 update, they said they forced an emissions burn out to start clean. I noticed lower fuel level from a full tank. Everything seems the same.
Then I went on a trip on the same tank and had two emissions burn outs from 80 percent full! You see it on the EVIC and smell it. 19 mpg on that tank!
I just went on a long trip and everything seems the same driving but I got only 22.1 mpg starting on a full tank that I filled, reset to zero and all highway driving. I was loaded with vacation stuff but my 2007 3500 Megacab 5.9 CTD with same gear loaded could get 26 MPG anytime on same trip.
I love my truck but if they ever cut the check, I may sell it and go for a 2004-2007 Ram 5.9. I know it’s engine better too.
