First off I would like to thank everyone for their interest and enthusiasm in starting a NE region. I have gotten alot of response. Our list is fast aproaching 50 members. I see more guys that are local that have not responded yet. I will be in touch as my time permits. I have also recieved alot of great ideas for events. Hopefully in the next 4-6 weeks I can announce a schedule for this summer.
As for last sundays event. It went great. We had 7 guys get together here in south jersey at my home for a fun afternoon. Tom from Elkton MD. and myself removed my cat and silencer ring. Here are the before and after #'s 0-30 40 50 60 times all droped by a full second. 30-50 droped from 7 sec. to 5. 40-80 times droped from 27 sec. to 23 seconds. The turbo definitly spooled up quicker. I noticed it at the initial startup. So for 35 bucks it gave me something. Anyway it was not that time consuming. Just a start. First sortie a success. As for our first meeting. Everyone enjoyed checking out each others trucks. At least every person had already done some bombing. We had Tom from Elkton md with his new 5' exhaust. Ed and Tony from Williamtown with 2 beautiful white dualies. Andy with his new Light driftwood shortbed drove up from Cape May with a TDR flyer that someone put on his windshield the day before. John, who came in a ford, because his new 5'exhaust was in the proccess of being installed back at his place. Joe who came all the way down from Pt. Pleasant with his bombed black 3500 dualie left some serious rubber on the streets. Very impressive HP. We took rides in each others trucks. Andy even got to try a plug in from Tony's truck. A few burnout pix that will be posted later when we get our website up. Aslo some group shots. I will email all you guys the shots. We had a bar bq and watched a little NASCAR in the garage. The day was a real exchange of information about our experiences with all of the different modifications we have done to our rigs. For some of us we got to see alot of stuff that we have only read about online. It was nice to see, and then hear about the installation and maintenance of the various upgrades. I recieved alot of suggestions on planning events. We have some real good ideas and I hope to announce some firm dates soon. Joe even told me that he had more fun today than at any Viper Club of America meeting he had been to. The last 2 guys left after 9:00. So for a first attempt I believe everybody would concur that it was
#ad
a success. One of the neat things was everybody seemed to use thier rams in different ways. Tom races his in mud bogs. Others were just daily drivers and some really towed some heavy loads. And this year I finally pay for that 3 year old Western pro plow. All in all it was alot of fun. Thanks again to everyone who cared enough to take time out of their lives to go met a group of perfect strangers who shared a common interest.
