8000 Street Diesel

It rained a bunch before the pull but the TTPA crew worked the clay track and made it decent for us to pull on. Our class was first and I was the 1st hook of the 8000 Street Diesel class. Since I was the first hook I decided to try 4th gear which was a little too much so I had to downshift to 3rd. To make matters worse I got sucked into a soft spot on the track and ended up with a pull of 241. 50' on the 250' track. Thinking I could do better if I stayed away from the soft spot and left it in 3rd gear I turned down my first hook and came back at the end of the class but didn't seem to hook up as good and only went 234. 96'.
