I know of the tsb, told my dad he takes it in, they install them (only 2 of the 4 though) still didn't get the other 2 yet, but they have the nerve to charge him for it, and him not knowing about it much, he paid, boy if i would had been there lol But i could swear to god that u didn't have to pay for the fix, if i'm wrong, i'll get off of my soap box, but if i am right, how can i get the money back, and get the other 2 on?

TSB’s are only covered if the truck is still under warranty, Or so I was told by the dealer. When I had a TSB done on my 98 that was out of warranty, I had to pay for it.

I used to be a DC parts manager and service manager and that is correct a TSB is just that it is not a recall. But if you are a good customer of the dealership and you have had previous problems then can squeek it thru if their warranty is in good shape.

I'm outa warrenty for the truck, but if i'm not mistaken, the exhaust manifold is part of the engine... right? correcet me if i'm wrong but the warrenty on that is 100,000? :-{}

What it come down to is they punch the part number into the dial system along with your VIN and meterage and the mianframe tells them Yes or No.



In Canada a service manager is allowed to make a judgement call for 1 year and 20,000 kms after warranty expiration.

Manifold

The manifold is covered under the engine warranty, my manifold cracked and I had it replaced about three weeks ago, no charge. I would think the retainers would be covered. I have 75,000 miles on the truck. bg

I just noticed the other day that my 2 rear exhaust manifold bolts were gone (#6 cyl). With 78,000 miles on I took it to my dealer and with no questions asked they replaced the bolts and spacers and installed the straps from 1 to 2 and from 5 to 6 all on warrenty. This was right after taking the owner for a short blast up the canyon to show him what DD11's, 4" exhaust, Power Edge Comp and a DTT transmission would do for his truck. Service Manager didn't know I took the boss for the ride so that didn't affect the decision to do the work on warrenty.

Well since it is covereed under warrenty, what can i do to get the rest of the work done and my money back? man that tics me off, i love stealers guess thats how they get that name...
