Hide your guns

On 6-21-2001 I made a repy to a post called - Hide your Guns.

In that post I said I was a Proud member of the North American Hunting Culb. No Longer:( . You see while I am still a life member, I am no longer proud of the NAHC.

Tonight while on there BB, I learn that they want to Censor Religion. I can't belive of all places, a hunting club would do that.

There the first ones to yell about goverment taking away there freedom to shoot or hunt. And now they want to take away our right to talk about God.

I'am sorry to say, I think they have forgot what this Country is all about.

Just had to get this off my chest.

Thanks

Funny thing... People are very often inconsistent with thier stated principles. Turns out they are "issue" people, who take sides issue by issue (they call themselves moderates, quite often), but lack a coherence of any kind to the sides they take.

I'm not a moderate. i choose what principles I use to decide what side of a particular issue I end up being on. After a while, it makes deciding where to be a whole lot easier :)

Thunderball,

I agree with you fully. It really worries me the way this country is heading. They are desensitizing all of us to the thing that really mean something. Look at the Gays, Sex, Religion, Marriage, God in schools, everything that has true virture, morality, standard, and values are being removed from our lives. This would have never taken place in the 50's. People had values, morals and standards. Most of all they were God praising and God fearing people. What are we doing to ourself? our children? our grand-children? our country?

The only thing I can say is that we the people of the United States of America had better really think about what is important! Our Families, Our Freedom, Our right to worship as we please, Our right to bear arms, etc.

Time is short, make sure you have your life and priorities in order!

I have to admit that I'm not sorry for the long post! We all need to wake up and stand up for righteous values, morality, God, Freedom and our right to bear arms!

Freedom is a double edged sword. If you want your rights you've got to let the other guy have his right to believe in what he wants - doesen't mean you have to agree. One of our fore-fathers said it best - I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Happy Trails

To both Bobs... nice posts...

To me, the problem comes when I not only have to allow them their opinions, but have to change my way of doing business to accomodate them.

Say a guy you work with wants to be a woman. He starts dressing in skirts, wears a bra, complete with accessories, and all of that. If you make a comment to him(her?) you are violating his rights. If you make a comment to anyone else working there, you are harassing them or making a hostile work environment.

He(she) now wants to use the ladies restroom. If you say no, he will sue you for not accomodating a special interest group. If you say yes, the other ladies will sue you.

IMHO, if a person wants to be "themselves", fine. But if I don't like it, I should have the right to not agree. That right is disappearing... . or already gone.

Amen and pass the ammo......

I believe that everyone should have the right to worship the god of thier choice. However to push your religion down someone elses throat or for me to push my faith down yours is exactly what we strive to prevent. Would you approve of your children being handed a copy of the Koran,Pentagram news,or a Jewish publication at school?Religion belongs at home and at your place of worship, not at the gun club, school, goverment,or military. It should be a private thing,NOT flaunted about like a some kind of flag or badge of honor. Too many of the moral majority think they have a corner on whats right. I would hope this country was founded on freedom of religion, not everyone has to believe the same!Go ahead and flame boys,I have broad shoulders and plenty of spirit.

I am so happy to talk to people with level heads,

I would never shove my belief on anyone, and don't want them to do it to me.

But at the same time, It would be nice to know that we can talk about God, & Religion in a proper forum, without someone having the subject of religion censor completely. :D

Champane Flight

I agree with you, But if some one ask a question on this BB, about religion, And you felt you could help them, You would, Right. That all I'am saying.

Thanks Guys.

These trends are scaring me. I really fear for the future my grandkids will live in.

Just read a book by Ann Rand, "The Anthem" , about the loss of individual rights and identity. While it was written in the 1930's it is still a good wake up call. Often think I was born about a hundred years too late.

I thought , since you liked the book ya might like a song inspired by the book.

"ANTHEM"

Words and Music by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart

Know your place in life is where you want to be

Don't let them tell you that you owe it all to me

Keep on looking forward, no use in looking 'round

Hold your head above the ground and they won't bring you down

Anthem of the heart and anthem of the mind

A funeral dirge for eyes gone blind

We marvel after those who sought

New wonders in the world, wonders in the world,

Wonders in the world they wrought

Live for yourself -- there's no one else

More worth living for

Begging hands and bleeding hearts will

Only cry out for more

Well, I know they've always told you

Selfishness was wrong

Yet it was for me, not you, I

Came to write this song

And what's worse fella's is that most of the young people's memories of war are "Desert Storm!" I might add that my Mother-In-Law, who was a WWII Disabled Vet, passed away in May of 1991 and is buried at Ft Snelling National Cemetary in Minneapolis, Mn. I was at her grave a few years later with my wife and wouldn't you know it, that the only young man from Minnesota to be killed in Desert Storm, was buried next to her! How ironic - especially since she was in charge of a local draft board doing Viet Nam.

If your wishes are to satisfy a curiousity on religion, sex, creed, color, da da da da da da , you can get a book and read about it. Nobody needs to justify their beliefs by pushing them on you, if so I do believe they may lack confidance in the decisions they have made. They say they mean well, I don't buy it, they prey on the weak and/or undecided, (perhaps confused).

We had a few kids, "skinheads" at the local park "recruiting" members... nobody showed up but the uneducated youth that currently are being "produced" by societies ignorant and/or uninvolved parents.

Give you children the most important possesion he will EVER own... a library card! It is free!
