Hey all,

I am wondering how common fuel leaks are at the T-fitting diesel return line on the block near the firewall? I noticed a LOT of slop in the line that goes to the injection pump and am not sure I want to leave it like that!

I am wondering if some/most of my oil leak is actually fuel mixing with oil!!

I also asked this in my other thread about the tappet gasket, but figured it was also worthy of its only thread.

They are sealed with a rubber (quad) ring. So, yes, they do move around/pivot a bit. There is no/little pressure on this line.

I find that when the nut is bottomed out (will not tighten any further) the line will still pivot a bit. The rubber is tightened down around the ID of the nut and the OD of the copper line.

Okay, thanks.

I would have a lot of leverage on the line by the IP fitting so some movement is probably with the rubber seal.

I tightened up the fittings a little.

Do you ever need to change that rubber in your experience?
