I have got a fuel leak. Truck is running but when you look down on top of the engine on the driver side you can see diesel spitting out from that hose that goes into the injection pump. I am pretty sure that it is the return line. I think the hose clamp is too tight and is pinching the hose up and letting fuel by. I also think the hose is worn. I need to know what size this hose is and how long it is, so I can replace it. I am out of town in lafayette lousiana at a hotel. let me know something. Thanks. :eek:

There are 2 rubber hoses at rear/side of engine, the return line is a 5/16 the supply line is 3/8. The rubber return line connects to a metal return line under the intake manifold, the metalline comes from the injector pump it connnects to the over-flow valve on front/rear side of the injector pump. To get to this line you will need to remove the fuel fliter for easier access.

Length of hose will depend where connects the bell hosing or the frame. Figure on 18 to 26 inches for the return line and less for the supply line.

Any parts store will have fuel line, if it is rated for diesel the better off you will be if not it will get you home.

Then you can look for marine diesel rated hose at boat shops or you can order from LarryB's Dodge starting problems solved here. .

I would change both rubber lines (return and supply) when you have the chance.

They are a pain to do. :eek::{
