Reunel Fit and Finish?

Everyone, I've been looking at the Reunel bumpers and was curious how the fit and finish is? How about customer service? If you have one (front or rear), please post your experience with 'em. Thanks!

You have to realize my experience is from 1997. I ordered a winch bumper with grill guard, headlight loops, and diamond plate top. I ordered it and was advised that it would be 4-6 weeks build time. It turned out to be 12 weeks. The last 6 weeks was "It will be built in two weeks. "



My father installed it for me, as I was at work with his truck. It must have went on fine, there was no complaints. I have been very happy with my purchase. I bought mine before they started powder coating their bumpers. Mine came painted and matched the truck great. After a few years of bugs, rocks, and salt, it is due for a sandblast and I will have mine line-x'ed. My buddy sand blasts and will do it all for about $75. The line X guy quoted me $75 to coat it, and another $75 to make it match my truck. It is in my readers rigs' on my '93.



My tow hooks have been yanked on, the bumper has pushed large piles of dirt, ice, etc, and pushed around several trees and the like. It is very strong, and it is a good intimidation factor when seen in someones rear view mirror. Usually their driving gets lots better with me behind them.



With the exception of the long time from order to shipment, I have been very happy. Shipping weight was 300#. Another thing to remember is my truck was probably not a "popular" truck for the gaurd, so they did not make them very often.

Very happy with mine, and they did an excellent job of polishing the stainless to look just like chrome. Perfect fit, proper gaps to the truck bed along the top and at the sides. As the sig shows, it is a rear for the 2004, with Warn winch and PIAA backup lights (wow do they work!). No problem with timeliness.

I just have the rear, but it is an outstanding product. I have backed into numerous trailers, trees, and one elderly couple in a nissan station wagon, and it still looks new!!!

I looked at them real hard, excellent bumper, but front is very heavy. On a 04. 5 Laramie 6sp, the front axle is within 350 Lbs of being overweight. The Ruenel will take a good part of that. I ended up with Buckstops.

rear reunell

I have a rear one on my 02 and I had one on my chevy both paid for themselves in not having to pay insurance deductables. the latest I backed into a tree HARD no damage. I drove to the reunell factory and had them install the bumper. . nice people, good service, but I do not like their paint jobs, I would get he bumper not painted and do it your self or powder coat it. Also I cut holes and put flush mount 4" reverse lights, alot better than their reverse light they offer.

I wonder if the paint process has been improved; I got my bumper in Fall 2004 and the paint is fine. The PIAA lights in mine work well--did you have something else in your Reunel? Also, you can specify 3/16" mild steel instead of 1/4" (or, if you go for stainless, it is 3/16") and save a significant amount of weight.

I forgot, I have the aluminum diamond plate wrap over the rear of the bumper, makes it work even better.
