I have been trying to find a front bumper for my 06 Mega Cab that looks good and will accept a winch. I was trying to get a UTE Bullbar and was finally told they wouldn't be able to make it so they referred me to Herd. After three months Heard says they will not be able to make an aluminum bumper the accepts a winch for an 06 diesel. I am now looking as a polished stainless bumper from reunel but I am not sure how I would like the looks in person. The website pictures show the inner fender liners sticking out below the bumper on the sides and I am worried about how I would like the look. My truck is a White Mega Cab and I want to have a polished stainless or aluminum look. I am planning on mounting either a Warn 16. 5 or a Milemarker 12,000 hydraulic winch. Any feedback on options and how people have delt with the inner fender liners would be appreciated.

I don't have any advice on bumpers or fenderliners, but may I recommend looking into Ramsey winches... they're made in the USA!

The Reunels are built tuff. Nothing comes close to their design. I used to weld for them years ago when the shop used to be in Yuba City, Ca. . I think they're in Willams or Willows, Ca, now. They are very, very HEAVY and BULKY, though  . I've also have seen some trucks sag a little up front because of the weight. The rear bumpers are great also. I've put their rear bumpers on every one of my trucks. If you're looking for the meanest, baddest bumper, it's the way to go. I'm not trying to discourage you but they do build HE-MAN bumpers.

I agree with this guy, however I can think of a thousand other mods to blow a few thousand buck on. If the Reunel doesn't work I would try either a "Road-Armor" or "Ranch hand". The Ranchhand is still top notch quality but at least $1000-$500 less than the other two options +/-.

HPGRAHAM,

I have the S/S reunel front and rear with the Warn 16. 5ti winch in front and love the looks and brawn. I heated the front inner fender wells with a heat gun and bent them forward; it looks fine. I have seen some just cut them, whatever you feel looks good. The reason you see the inner fenders is there is an increase in approach and departure angles( means you can take on steeper hills), good luck!

I agree as well, I am running a black Reunel on my '98 and love it. They are definately extremely heavy and very tough. I think they weight in the average of 300lbs. from what I remember when I drove to their old shop in Yuba City to have it installed. Let us know if you go with the Reunel, I am interested as well in putting one on my '06 so if you don't mind, let us know what $$ ball park range I am looking at for one with the Warn 16. 5. I know they are a bit pricey, but hopefully not over 2K like my other one almost was.

See TDR #51, p. 28 for pictures of my Reunel front bumper and Warn 16. 5ti winch. The bumper is around 180 lb in stainless (3/16" thick instead of 1/4" mild steel, but the SS is 3x as strong). Winch is about 135 lb. I think it looks great. Easy to clean, etc.

The Reunel bumper is top quality. I had one installed after reading Joe's article in TDR. I happen to have the non winch bumper as I do not go far off the highway. This particular bumper weighs 270 lbs. It is malleable steel. The ride on the rough freeways here is improved without any front end dip or harder steering. At this time the stock shocks seem sufficient. The paint matches the silver color of the truck and looks like it came with it. The mounting of this bumper is superb. Its not a "brush guard" but a real bumper which will greatly add to safety.

With a bumper and winch installed what is the front axle weight I think it will be near or over the axle rating depending what you carry in you bed, etc. if you have a 4x4, that cummins is heavy My truck has a heavy camper shell and a 70 gal in bed fuel tank (is was full) with this my front axle wt is 4880#
