reverse light sending unit

anyone else have problems with there reverse lights? seems like my truck eats sending units. install a new one and lights work for a few months then begin to work when they want. is there solution or am I alone with this problem?

What kind of back up lights do you have wired in?? Anything more than stock without a relay will overload the switch.
