I installed 2" Revtec lift 2 months ago. Followed instructions to the t. Good instructions. This weekend using a short cut (dirt road) the front end started to make a metal on metal sound. Looking on passengers side I see that two of the studs sheared off and only one is holding the shock tower on. Driving slowly back to the parents house I find the last one snaps the bracket off. Now I have a broken bracket on Saturday afternoon and a truck I can't drive. Found a DC dealer that can order on Monday. Part is $8 and tax and shipping adds $33. Local slavage yard has on for $10 and I remove. Take frontend apart in parents rock driveway. Dad doesn't have the correct tools but I get by. Find the studs are hardend,so drilling is out. Remark new holes and drill and tap. Front end back together in 6 hours. It took 1 hour to install the first time. Just got off the phone with revtec and they say they use different studs now and torque specs might of been wrong in directions. I can't see how using a 1/4 allen wrench on a harden steel stud could shear it off. I noticed that the studs that sheared had rust on them. That didn't happen overnight. Sorry had to get that off my chest. :-{}
