Legislation also has been introduced in the Rhode Island House and Senate (H. B. 7127 and S. B. 2485) to tax vehicles upon original registration, $50 for every mile per gallon they average under 25 mpg. If these efforts are successful, trailerists will be forced to pay a high price to own a vehicle capable of towing a large trailer safely. Contact your Rhode Island legislators to oppose taxing vehicles based upon fuel efficiency. A similar bill has been introduced in Arizona, See Arizona Gas Guzzler Thread.

I hate to sound anti-government, but if the government can keep us from being so mobile, they can control us better.



It was mentioned on TV this morning that we are looking at $2. 00-$3. 00/gal for fuel this summer. That will send the country into recession/depression.

they've been saying that every year....

for the last 2 or three. Predict doom and gloom and when the gas "only" goes up to 1. 75, we're happy - giddy, even - to pay ONLY that.



I wonder if the oil companies have an office of disinformation set up... ?
