I'm looking to purchase a set of Ricksons or alike 19. 5 aluminum (i don't think they make the aluminum anymore) or steel chrome wheels. Can anyone help? Should i call Rickson direct? Does anyone have a set for sale?

Noone? My tires are really bad and i figured now is a good time to spring for the wheels i want. I am looking to pick up a set this week. If you have any for sale please shoot me a PM.

I was looking at Rickson 1. 5yrs ago. At the time it took 6wks for arrival. I went with the aluminum 19. 5" from Les Schwab. It took 2days to arrive.

I'm going to check the sites you guys sent but i think i am going with the 19. 5 vision 81. It stinks that they are not made in the US but they are aluminum weighing in at 45 lbs each oppose to the rickson steel wheel at 65lbs and weight rating is 4500lbs where ricksons are 5000lbs. I found them for a great price also at $250 per wheel. I think i will order them tomorrow. The tires i think i will get the Yokohama 265 70 19. 5 all terrain. TY

How do you like the 19,5's and what tire did you mount on them. I deal with Les Schwab for my tires and was thinking about going 19,5's as my Toyos are about done. Any pics of the wheels on your truck?

The vision wheels are 0 offset so the centerline of the tire will move out about 1. 75 inches from stock.

I have the Yohahama TY303's in the 285 version. Been good tires

Thanks for the pics . They look great on your truck. My 05 is white also You have made me think hard about going this way. Will have to go see my local Les Schwab man and see what they can do for me.

They look great. You got me thinking about the 285s. What kind if any MPG gain or loss have you guys noticed after installing the 19. 5s?

I gained a little mileage. With the low od of the g56 and the 3. 73 ratio in the rear the 35" tires help cruise rpm. I also have a set of 35x12. 5 MT's and I loose mileage with those, too wide I guess.

Zero mileage gain, tremendous improvement in ride and handling. I got the Rickson steel wheels. Don't buy Hankooks, didn't get near the mileage I expected. Heather with Rickson is now recommending Bridgestones (she has 'em on her truck).

But to be fair, I replaced the OEM shocks with Bilsteins at the same time I put the new wheels and Hankook tires on. Therefore, I can't attribute 100 percent of the ride and handling improvement to the 19. 5s.

Can't comment on how long it takes Rickson to deliver these days. I thought mine were worth waiting for in 2004.

For your SRW guys that went with the Vision wheels how have you liked them? Do they throw a lot of mud/debris/rocks up on your truck because they stick out further? Was it very noticeable on how much over stock wheels that they stuck out? Was it a big adjustment going to the 19. 5 tire/wheel over a 17” or 18” setup? Most of the “aggressive” tires in the 19. 5” size are rated (according to their mfg's) for drive axles only, as they tend to grab a hold of joints in the road, shoulders in the AC etc. Have you noticed that?

I'm contemplating going with either the Rickson's or Visions. I can get the visions installed this weekend…or wait till January to get the Ricksons. Besides the proper offset and backspacing…is there a reason to go with one over the other? Lastly…looking at either the Toyo M608Z's in the 285 flavor or the Hankook DHO1 or Kumho Power Fleet 937 in the 265 flavor. Anybody have any 1st hand experience with any of these tires…good or bad? FWIW, I've got a leveling kit on my rig and am currently running 35x12. 5x17 Toyo MT's so I should be able to fit the 265's for sure and the 285's (might be a bit tight). I need the 19. 5's because with my camper and flat deck car hauler with rock crawler and gear on it I'm pushing 7200-8000lbs weight on the rear axle…time for 19. 5's.

The two biggest disadvantages of the Vision wheels are the offset and the 4000 load rating. They are cast and made in china but some people put more credit in that than others.

I run 285's on Ricksons or 35x12. 5's on stock wheels on my 06 with no level kit. Shouldn't be a problem for you. I believe with the Visions however you'll be limited to the 265 because of the narrow wheels.

I installed Visions on my truck about three weeks ago. Since then i put 2,000 miles on them. The load rating is 4500lbs per wheel. The 0 offset has not bothered me at all as they really don't stick out pat the fender. I've been transporting debris to a landfill pulling a dump trailer at 23,700gvw twice a day for the past two weeks and i have not had any rocks shoot up at my truck yet. I should add though that i have fender flares and mud flaps. I really like the ride and am very happy with the switch to the 19. 5s. Don't think i could ever go back. On my trip to New Hampshire last weekend i did notice some very annoying tracking and pulling on the highway in certain areas. I don't know if this is do to the tires or my annihalated steering box which needs to be replaced badly.

I can't comment on Visions, but I've been very satisfied with the Rickson 19. 5s. I was NOT satisfied with the mileage I got out of the Hankook 24570R19. 5s. Got no more mileage out of them than I did the OEMs and I am a careful driver. I replaced 'em with Bridgestones on Heather's recommendation. Same size. I also do not like tires/wheel combinations that stick out beyond my flares. Too much mud and snow down the side of my truck. That's why I have 245s and not 265s or 285s.

Sradke-According to Rickson's website (and other sources online) the Visions have a load rating of 4500lbs not 4000. Additionally, the 285' should fit on the Visions as they are a 7. 5” wide wheel and that's what's required for a 285.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Based on the research I've done and the weight I'm putting on the truck I've decided to pull the trigger on the Visions. I could've possibly “made it work” with my load range E tires but margin of safety, reduction in stress while driving my rig and piece of mind knowing my family (and everyone else on the road) is safe while in the rig is priceless and far out weighs the costs associated with the upgrade. I'm getting them thru my local Les Schwab dealer. They'll be on by end of day Monday. Since I'm still undecided as to which tire setup I want, the shop is nice enough to mount up one of the Toyo's and one of the Kumho's for me and let me test fit it on my rig to see which I like better and then I'll make my decision from there. This shop does a match balance procedure similar to RIckson (albeit I'm sure not to the level Rickson does) and they're local and will warranty it for life. Additionally, I'm going to have the tires siped to help with wet traction as it sounds like the 19. 5's have a reputation for breaking loose in wet weather especially when unloaded. I'm hoping I end up liking the setup and it makes the driving experience with the camper on a whole lot better. With the CTD not being my DD anymore and only putting on about 5K-10K miles per year…these are likely the last set of tires I'll have to buy for it over the next 8-10years…. I like that.

I'll post up some pics after the install next week.
