Getting ready to add air horns & a 12V compressor system to my truck & am browsing Rickson Truck. I found these on-board air systems. http://www.ricksontruck.com/airhorns_installation.html

Looks like a good system & I've heard of the Thomas Compressors but I don't recall exactly what I've heard... I've also been looking at an air horn system at Camping World. http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index. cfm?skunum=3917&src=SRQB

What I'm thinking I would like to do is order a Rickson Compressor system & then order a Hadley horn like this one or the equivilant from Ricksons. The horn I like is here... http://www.hadley-products.com/catalog/Catalog.aspx?cmd=prd&div=3&cat=52&prd=14

I believe the Camping World system is the one shown on the Hadley site above. I don't want to knock the Hadley System but the compressor looks kinda small. I DO want to be able to fill up my air bags & possibly a tire if I need to & was told by another member on TDR that it takes his pump 4-5 minutes to fill a 1 or so gallon tank.

Sorry it's such a long post but I NEED SOME HELP!

TIA,

Clay

I ordered the 2592 kit back in the middle of Feb, and still haven't gotten it yet. I called them and they said that they don't have any compressors left, they're on order (I guess they have all the kit pieces indivually). So I'm still waiting on that. If I don't hear anything back by Monday, I'm probably going to cancel my order.

You will have to buy a big compressor to fill a tire, none of the air horn compressors have enough duty cycle to do it. If I remember correctly the Hadley 850 is only supposed to run 5 minutes at a time.

Have a look at siege engineering on ebay, they have the continuous run Viair compressors and reasonably priced.

I purchased one and am in the middle of the install.
