So i have an 04 qqlb, and an 08 mega,

the 08 sits 1.75 lower in the front, and is a rougher ride over uneven roads. look as though it hits the bump stops rather often.
No before you say shocks both truck have the exact same 4600's on them.
these trucks should ride about the same, both have the same frame lengths. the 04 is an auto, the 08 is a stick.
even still i can't find a reason the 08 would ride so much harsher, same tire pressure, same size tires.
why does the 08 site 1.5-1.75 lower in the front?
I even purchased some ones older front coil springs, as comparing the ones on the 08 to the 04's the 08's were a lot smaller in diameter, the new ones i got used are the same as my 04's, from the outside looking in, i did not pull the coils from my 04 to compare. the thicker coils helped the ride some but it's still far from the 04's. i'm thinking i might have to get a 2" coil to make the 08 ride like the 04.
speed bumps, parking lot entrances all seem to bottom the front of the 08 out, and same speed on the 04 is smooth as silk.
i will add the 08 uses less boost to drive down the road at 70 as well, it's around 2-4 where the 04 is 6-10.

ideas?

My 06 was also terrible in stock configuration and would easily hit the bumpstops as you describe. I don't know how far you want to go or how much money you want to spend but I'm extremely happy with the Carli "Commuter" kit. I also added their BJ's, swaybar, and high clearance arms. Yes, that's a fair amount of money but the ride is absolutely worth it to me. Even my mechanically clueless mother in law commented on how nice the truck rode!

I have lightly bottomed out the front left once since the install by nearly launching the truck off a cattle guard on a dirt road at ~70 mph, not something a normal "commuter" is going to do too often. It is a joy to drive on road and off. If you ever make it down to Phx we can take a spin if you want.

I know there are other less expensive options that may serve you well too, I'm only going to speak to what I have experience with.

It is a MC, they sit lower for some reason and they are heavier. At 9 years old the front springs are just shot, and any used stock ones you get are not going to be much better. Under the Cummins engine the springs are wear item. Get yourself a set of Thuren soft rides or a set of VR springs and level it out, it will ride better.
