Code P0336 - Crank Sensor. Called the local Cummins Shop, counter guy told me Ring Sensor is what they have, says it goes in side of block about half way back??? Got the part number - 4002066, priced @ $43. 34.
Thanks. I wasn't aware of what the manual called it but, knew it's location and such. I was wondering if anyone ever heard it refered to as the "Ring Sensor"? and if the part numbers was correct for what we call the "Crank Sensor" and if the price is about right. Sometimes it's all about what someone calls a part that makes the difference.
I'll look in the manual later on. Thanks again.
Just found an older post mentioning same part number I refered to earlier, it the correct one.
Had the same code on my '03 5. 9. The sensor is just behind the dampner and should be covered with your power train warrenty. After they relaced mine it made all the difference in the world.
