Possum, you will be missed.

Got to enjoy many of his shows.

One of the greatest. At one of our local bars I was often asked by the Bar Lady to play the music, and handing me a quarter or two. I'd ask, " Why me?", the answer always was, "You play the best kind of music", I'd play George Jones, then Tom Jones, (my Glamorgan county boy), for a start, then all the old favourites. For me and many others, Country Music as we knew it has gone, but thankfully U-tube is now filling the bill. George Jones was great, whether he sang or just spoke, a great voice, and his recordings will go on for years.

I saw his memorial @ The Grand Ole Opry on RFD channel Thursday night, it was a replay from the morning. If you get a chance to see it, if they replay again, it is worthwhile.

I was lucky enough to have seen George Jones, live, in Phoenix, AZ. quite a number of years ago. His show was great & I was grateful to have had the opportunity to see one of the all time greats perform.

While I like most music, today's country is nothing like that from greats such as George. Always brings back good ole memories.
