Just wanted to give a great review on Rip's 4" exahust system.

The quality is excellent and fits perfectly. Rip also took the time to go over all options and answer my questions with interest and detail.

I would have no hesitation in ordering from him again and reccomending his services to others!

more info

Where do I get more info. Do I need to perform a search on Rip Rook or is there a web site link for more info, muffler type, cost, etc... .

Rip Rook

Amen Amen Amen Amen

I bought ALL my upgrades except the US Gear and KSB1B (Kurt) through Rip, Comp, ATS, Scotty II, DD2's, etc.

When I find someone as trustworthy and honest as Rip, then you know you will be treated right!, and I certainly was!

I would buy again from him in a heart beat!

Bob Weis

Oh, 4" exhaust works perfectly too, sounds great!, NO drone!

Sound Quality?

Just viewed Rips site and would like some input on how his exhaust sounds with or with out muffler. I don't think I've seen or heard his system. I'm looking for a deeper tone than stock/straight pipe but not necessarily any louder than it is now. Know what I mean? :D Thanks, Jim G.

Rip's exhaust is sweet with the muffler, and LOUD with out it. I would say you would never notice the differance between stock and Rip's system until you romp on it or tow with it then its a little louder but not obnoxious in any way

I would suggest calling Rip. he will answer any and all questions about the system. He is one that I will personally vouch for. He will not B S you. He is straight forward and very easy to work with. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Hope this sheds some light.

Mark Smith

Mark Smith's description of the system is right on target! You can hardly notice any difference in the sound. When the truck is under a slight load as when climbing a hill, you can notice a more lower throaty tone. Sounds good!

I purchased the 4" Diamond Eye system. It costs just about half the price of the Magna Flow. At present, price dictates first priority.

I'm very satisfied with this system and would purchase it again!

I have the 4" inch Rip exhaust with no muffler, and I LIKE IT!! Is a bit loud at idle and when putting your foot in it but when cruising its not that loud at all. Actually at 70 mph with the cruise set, I don't notice it. I didnt think it had a drone till I went looking for it. My drones at 82 mph, so it really is not an issue.

Robin

Thanks for the responses guys. I've been running the stock system minus muffler for about 2 years (kept resonator in) so I don't mind some increase in decibels, but I want a deeper tone. I will give Rip a call to see what he thinks comparison will be, with vs. without muffler. JimG.

The Real Test

I finally got around to installing my Rip's 4" system(mufferless) a couple of weeks ago - not too bad, did it by myself in about 4 hours. I had a little trouble with the welded on hanger(a bit misaligned), but managed to pull it around. I had been running the stock exhaust with no muffler, and this system is definitely louder at idle and when you "punch" it than before. But steady cruising is not bad.

Gave it the ultimate test - took my wife(and she can hear anything!) on a 36 mile round trip out to the pasture. I was driving very conservatively, with the windows up and A/C on - she even drove when I opened the gates - and never said a word! And she complains about turbo whine when boost hits around 15PSI...

:) I saw Rip today and will be having him install a 4 inch system with a 40 inch Donaldson muffler this next Friday. I will post the results with before and after egt readings and with db reading in the cab and out of the cab. Nothing like a little data to help in the understanding of what the difference is. :D

My wife is going to kill me if she finds out I bought this. Anybody got a spare dog house they want to rent to me. :D :D :D

I was all set and ready to buy an allied muffler from Rip called him and told him I didnt want the drone or for the noise in the cab to be unbareable he told me to save my money and buy the donoldson muffler. Been grinnin ever since I like this muffler. And if you read this Rip just wanted to say thanks for your honest input.
