Just drove close to 6 hours each way to have Rip install his 4" exhaust. All I can say is what a great guy and what an awesome installation... . Worth every minute of the drive. If you are close to Portland OR. and want a 4" system, look him up, you won't be disapointed. www.sourceautomotive.biz:D :D :D

Rip Exhaust

Tshunt,

Did you get the muffler as well? I was wondering how it would sound with and without the muffler. Do you have any information you could share?

Thanks,

Bob Caldwell

Bob, Yes I did get the muffler, it's the Allied truck muffler, it sounds really nice. Rip has 3 different allied mufflers to choose from, each louder than the next. I chose the middle of the road and its perfect for me, not much noticeable difference in the cab while on the freeway, but really gets your attention when accellerating through the gears in town. :D Hope this helps... Terry

How does the tailpipe exit on Rip's system? Does it come out like the stock pipe on the newer trucks (pointed downward)? Or does it look more like the tailpipes on the earlier trucks?

Better yet, does someone have a picture of it??

Aggie, go to the site on the first post and it has a picture of the system components. The pipe looks like it is angled down like the 24v trucks.

I just installed Rips exhaust yesterday. It definitely gives a throaty sound but its not irritatingly loud either. At highway speeds it sounds about like a stock truck. The heads do turn especially when Im idling and I turn on the ebrake. :--) Gets their attention. :D

Bob, do U have a pic so we can see more of the truck, to get a better idea about how, and where the exhaust exits... Thanks

Mine should be here on Monday! I will post a sound clip of before and after. I am getting better at making that Pacbrake bark loud with the factory exhaust, I wonder what Rip's mufffler-less system will sound like. :D

Please do. I like my stock-minus-the-muffler sound, but I'm exploring other options, as I'm sure others are as well.
