Awsome sled pics!!!

I know this is very short notice fellas.
Is anyone interested in attending the truck drags at Bandimere next weekend(June 2,3).
I've had a few guys call me about it. I haven't received any info on it,so I dont know much about it.

I can't make this one, but boy would I like to go. Let me know how your truck runs Kevin, I just got bake from Bandimere and I ran a 16. 4.

My brother (just graduated Friday) got back from highschool drags today and said there was a 24 valve, with a cowl hood. What color? Cab was blue/purple, bed was grey. Hey, Jordan! His truck wasn't running right, they took his buddies '69 Bronco. Basically stock, blue tub & doors, White hard top, primer front end, was running like 21's.

Jordan, I realize its a rough call, but how fast would you say my truck is compared to yours, using the seat-of-the-pants meter?

My Bandimere schedule says June 2nd, Castrol GTX E. T. Series Saturday/A&W Truck Sales Fast 16/Childers Trailer Sales Quick 16; June 3rd, Mopar At Thunder Mountain. The Cummins Rocky Mountain Truck Fest in on July 29.

Pete,

Your truck is very stong IMO, but because of the 5sd you will be a little slow getting going.

I would think that you should be a high 16.

Jordan... How fast does that make mine?

I know the 5 spd kills me off the line (wouldn't trade it, though). I'm contemplating putting my stock tires on to race it. I've got them sitting in the garage, mounted to the stock wheels, they're highway type (real hard, crappy tread design) 245/75 Bridgestones. I normally run 255/85 Remmington Wide Brute RV's, 3. 54 rear end.

By the way, I got your sled pull pictures. Much air under tires, very nice. Did you have the 241 LD or HD?

Pete

I don't know which one I have. Will find out tomorrow.

I would try different shift points. I think Nowel was shifting around 2600rpm.

I'm undecided on the tires. The 245 would get out a little quicker, but you have enough power to pull the 255. Try playing with different gears starting out. Second may work better to launch as I don't think that you will burn clear out and may get a goud launch.

I would put the stockers on the back and practice some takeoffs in second and see what happened.

I had a 92 D150 318 5sd 355lsd, that would turn a low 15(stock engine). I had 15x8 aluminum rims with 275/60/15s. If I started in second I would either burn clear out or bog down, and occasionally a perfect launch. I found that with starting in first I would spin a little then slam second and spin 3-4' and that was the most consitant fastest launch. You should of seen the faces when a 1st gen dodge would smoke a 454SS.

Play with it

I launched in 4 Hi, my 60' time was 2. 222. I've herd of guys launching in 3rd at about 2200 rpm's. I think you truck will have a faster mph than me because of my transmission. The launch is what made my time is so good. I launched with full boost, 27lbs.

p. s. I took my 285's off and ran 265's

I always start in 2nd. 1st is way too low, and 3rd way to high. The first thing I did to the truck when I got it was get new rims/tires, I couldn't stand the way the stock ones looked. Haven't had them back on since, keep thinking about throwing them back on for some smoke fun. I guess if I really wanted to start in 1st, I could bolt up my 35s off the Blazer, and if that didn't do it, I'm pretty sure the 39. 5s would. Don't think drag racing on unbalanced bias plys on bead locks would be very desirable, though.

One of my buddies actually has a 454SS, I raced him one night, he had me by a truck length or so, I was just starting to pull hard when we ran out of road.

Jordan, a 27 psi launch is pretty brave when you have to drive it all the way back to Fort Collins. Ain't your transmission still stock? What was your mph? I don't want to push it too hard, I already have one truck with a bum transmission. Lost 2nd gear in the Blazer pretty much completely now, have to get it to around 4000 rpm in first, let off, and wait for 3rd. Not sure about overdrive, it won't really pull it with the Swampers.

I'm going if i don't have to work this week end.
So whats the story?
Is there a meeting time or spot?
It'd be nice to put faces to the names.
