Guage help (CO)

RMTDR New President

Hey RMTDRers.

I would like to get a guage and some insite into what type of events and things everyone would like to do the rest of 03 & all of 04 in our region. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion and shed some light on what you would like to see and do. Please post lots and often with all your ideas.

Thanks for your ideas and words of wisdom!!

Jeff Randol

Jeff, is this an indication that you are heading this up now. Wrench days, educational stuff, participate in events that already happen such as Truck Fest and Cummins events. People may be interested in Friday night club clashes at Bandimere for racing. A dinner or picnic or some social gatherings or camping are some things we could do. Some of the national and big TDR events are close by that we could attend in group or at least represent the area. RMTDR is a huge area and I think that is why getting together and organizing is difficult, besides all the recreational things there are to do around the RMTDR area. I think the Dyno days, gatherings at ATS, Central Motive power and others have been great. The list could go on and on. Willing to assist as I can, let me know what you need.

I am headed up to Bandimere this afternoon if you are still interested in going to test and tune I will see you there.

I am going to give it a shot Mike! If things go exactly according to schedule  then I should get there around 4 and be able to hang for an hour or 2. I'll know more later today. So what do you thi nk you will run today? Going to get below a 14????

To answer your question on the RMTDR, I saw BarryG's request for help last week and replied that I would gladly jump in. As for the roles I am not certain, Barry is going to call me tonight and we can discuss then. I like the TDR and the club here, would like to see us do more cool things like I have attended so far. I know how it is with work and Barry's situation so my hope is to relieve a little pressure off his plate. Would love to have your help Mike!!

The time to step up

I also read Barry's post. It kind of bummed me out, if I had known I would have given Barry a little more help.

I have not talk to Barry yet but plan to. I would also would like to lend a hand in helping out. If at all possible, we that are interested should have a sit down with Barry and see whats the best path. I'm not interested in the "Big Chair" but maybe a supporting role. Any support to Barry or Jeff is just a call away. Please PM me if there is anything I can do in the meantime.

As far the as the events, and just getting together, I've only been to three meets and have meet only a handful of members. I have tried to add all the CO members to my buddy list, so far I have 50. Now with 50 guys and there friends we could be doing quite a bit in the RM area. And since we are a popular destination all year round we should be able to get all types interested in just about any event. ie, Hunting trips, Camping / RVing, Snowmobiling / ATVing, Skiing, Wrench Days, Dyno Days, Track and Race Days, Company and Vendor sponsored events, Regional events maybe invite the WYO boys down (Whitmore that guys a card).

Who's going to pay for it all, well thats were we need some creative financing. ;)

Garrett

PS I do some volunteer work around the state and with some places we get local groups donating their time which works out really nice for both parties, just another thought.

PSS Dodge is the official truck of PRCA. How about showing up at a few PRCA sponsored events and showing off a bunch of trucks. May even be an opportunity to work with the Dodge folks to set something up (free Dodge Stuff).

I wouldnt say Barry has ultimately stepped down or out, like many of us work and bosses get overwhelming and want more out of us. Barry asked for assistance and I offered to jump in and get my feet wet. Barry excepted. The plan is to have a really strong 04 schedule of events and of course, finish out strong in 03. The big stuff will probably fall into 2004 as big events take time and resources to set up. Keep the ideas flowing here!!

Activities

I'm ready to dyno again:D I debombed my truck a little (for the sake of my clutch) and would like to know where I stand.

Hey Jeff, I ran off a couple 14. 2's at Bandimere tonight and I think she will do a little better than that. Just had to go.

Hey guys,

I also would be willing to help out where I can. I can't commit to a "regular" position, but I will do what I can.

Just an idea: How about a regular meeting? Some sort of every whatever day we go to someplace just to park our trucks together and hang out. I know that Good Times burger joints do this for hot rod clubs around town. Cheep food and a big paring lot.

Of course more big events, like ATS and Central Motive, should be planned.

Maybe a quarterly wrench day?

I also like the ideas posted above: mountain events, charities (I have many contacts in this area if we need ideas), Dodge PRCA (what about stock show?), etc.

Hey Everybody:

Well I talked to Jeff (JRandol) last night and what we decided would be best for the club was for me to step down and he is going to take over. I would love to continue doing it as I do enjoy it but time constraints just aren't going to allow me to do it the justice it and you deserve. Work has got me running like a chicken with its head cutoff and it is going to be this way for quite a while. So instead of the club sliding downhill due to my inability to continue to schedule events and get the club to the next level Jeff is going to do it. In fact some of you may have noticed that the last several months when people came up with ideas I just wasn't able to follow through with them and they just didn't happen. You deserve someone who can follow through. The RMTDR has a lot of potential and with someone who can devote more and consistent time to it can take it places it has never been before. I will continue to be an active member in the club just not in an official capacity. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me in the past with this task including the vendors, I could not have done it without you. I would like to especially thank Mike Lockner (MLockner) and Alex Mendez (Big A) for their help and support over the last year. I am sure that you will all continue giving your support and help to Jeff.

Jeff and I have setup a meeting on Tuesday evening Oct 7th to go over the transition and to brainstorm on some ideas for the coming months and year. If anyone would like to come I think it would be great to get your input. I realize it is short notice but if you can make it it would be great. In addition to that I am sure Jeff will be soliciting your ideas beyond that so if you cant make it you will still have input. Remember this club is not for me or for Jeff but the members and we or should I say Jeff want to give you what you want to see out of the club so your input is extremely important to its success.

Jeff will chime in here I am sure and he can post the details of what time and where we are going to get together (because I don't know yet).

Thanks again for all your help in the past and help me welcome Jeff as the new President of the RMTDR.

Sincerely,

Barry Gallagher

Hello everyone,

I like the ideas mentioned here and would be willing to attend/help whenever I can. I think Barry and his supporting cast did a great job and I think we should all thank him and them for their efforts. I've enjoyed the two RMTDR events that I was able to attend (ATS and April Dyno) and look forward to attending more.

Rebel,

I see that you don't have a signature with your mods listed. What have you done to get that kind of power?? I'm working on my 95 now and I want at least 450 hp, but I'm not sure what needs to be done. PM me please:confused:

Joe

BarryG deserves a big round of applause and thanks everyone. He didnt give himself enough credit here for all the work he has done, so everyone please thank him!! Barry is right, the club is for all of us, and your input is really needed so that I, and everyone that wants to assist, can setup events that will bring great turnout and be enjoyable.

The plan is to meet next Tuesday Oct. 7th. to discuss ideas for 2004 and the remainder of 2003 for the RMTDR. Lets meet at the Gunther Toodys which is off I-25 and 104th Ave @ 6:30 pm. The address is:

201 W 104th Ave, Northglenn, CO 80234

All that can come are more than invited and I welcome your ideas and input. Of course while we are there we need to scarf down some burgers and a shake or two. :D Look forward to seeing you all there!

I am sure this will get posted but I can be reached @ 303-868-7070 (cell phone) or my email which is a good way to reach me is -- email address removed --

Sincerely,

Jeff Randol

Hey everyone, if you are planning on coming send me a PM or post on the thread here. I am going to call Gunther Toodys closer to the date and see if we can have some sort of an area blocked off for us so we can all sit together and hear each other better.

Jeff

RamThatStroker- Your truck is identical to my buddies and he dynoed at 449HP and 950-ish torque (don't remember his exact number). To get there you will need a #5 plate, 191 delivery valves, injectors-370's, a bigger turbo either an HX40 or KSB-1. I prefer the B-1 variety due to the HX40's being kind of short lived if you go much past 450 hp. Also get you timing set to 16 degrees. You will also need a good clutch to hold all the new power. SouthBend Clutch 13" OFE or FE will work well for general use. If you want to sled pull or hard core drag race be perpared to spend a lot more money on a clutch.

Jeff- I'd really like to make the Oct. 7th meeting but I have prior commitments:( Maybe the next go-around.

BarryG - Thanks for all your hard work!

Rebel,

Thanks for the info. I just got gauges done this last weekend and will be ordering a southbend soon. My factory clutch is ready to go (150,000 + miles) so its time for a replacement:cool: I guess I'll have to break out the old credit card and start ordering... ;) I might even have to shoot you a question once in awhile if you don't mind.

Thanks again,

Joe

I gotta' start paying more attention to this section.

Barry, sorry to see you go as "The Man". You did a great job since I've been here.

Jeff, Congrats to you and your new headache Oo. I thought about volunteering for assisting the "Club" back about June, but I had my fill of being an officer during my patch wearing days. I would be more than happy to give some input/suggestions/advise to organizational and operational structure if requested (like maybe a monthly get together of some sort - hint hint), otherwise I will keep my mouth shut:D

Either way, I will be there on Tuesday. It would be great to see every one again.
