New Head of RMTDR

silverram03,

I am asking Shay about this right now. I do not belive we had discussed this, but it should be possible. There are always some fine trucks at our Dyno days, yours being one of the nicer ones. I can hardly wait to see that new valve cover in person. The pictures were beautiful. I'll see what I can set up and let you know.

Volunteers needed

Hey to all,

I don't know how I got the job of crew chief, but I did. Oo.

I need many volunteers willing to get a bit dirty hooking the trucks down. I would like to have a sheet at the desk for you to list yourself for work. I hope that we can get enough help so that everyone will get a break for a couple of hours or more.

It is fun to be in the middle of it all (dirty, too).

No need to reply to this post, just get there and help if you can.

Thanks, LaserBob

What's wrong Bob, you didn't hear that freight train comin'? :laf:

I am 98% sure I got the day off, which is to say my manager did not say "No". I will be bringing a couple of extra monkey suits for anybody to borrow. I don't know what I will be working on up there, lots to do, but I will be helping out somewhere.

Donations would be appreciated in the form of poster board, markers (BIG ones), 48" surveyor stakes, caution tape, or $$$. If anyone knows where to get a huge (1" or better) dry erase marker, we could use a couple.

I'll be there

I will be there! I guess I better hurry up and take off my FMS to send back to Chip to get it fixed so I can have it back on my truck by that day so I can play a bit.

Sounds like this will be a good time. When the event day is closer I will need directions! Too bad I am still learning with my R/C helicopter or I would give you guys a demo! Maybe I will bring it anyway.

Nick

Autometer has jumped onboard with some "stuff". I guess I will know what they are sending when I get the box.

We will be looking at things over the next week or so to see if we can do prizes for a show-n-shine for each seperate brand or what. I do know that Lance at PFI will have some trophies, but I need to get clear on exactly what each one is for.

Either Mike or I will update again soon.

Shay

And Bob, was there ever anyone else for the job of Crew Chief? :D

what can I do to help?

Wanted to offer to help get setup possibly on fri. night for parking and such. Will be there bright and early sat. morning and will be there all day-have sat. night off. How do we want to start getting organized for future dyno days, wrench days, b-s days, ect. ? Maybe this could be hashed out on the 25th? I like Shay's idea of a donation jar for a banner, ect. Maybe someone should bring a trailer since there will be fords and duramaxes there and I am still crossing my fingers with the stock clutch. Thinking of running with my #6 cam plate then getting in line again and running without a plate. Poor clutch and mosquitoes. Oh well, its a public service to the residents of Ft. Collins to help protect them from west nile. Come to think of it the city of greeley must have the wrong address. I havent been getting my monthly checks. Jordan

Hey Bob,

I'd be glad to give you a hand "hookin trucks"

Are there gonna be any of them BIG HP "farm trucks" there?

:D

I'll help out. Might as well be doing something while I'm waiting for my turn.

Was just in Sacramento over the weekend and WOW! How about we have a dyno day at sea level?! I thought I was driving someone elses truck at first. It moved quite nicely and only got to about 1100 on EGT's, which for my truck is awesome. It hasn't been on a dyno yet so I'm excited to see what it can do. It did well at Bandimere but i have no idea how that equates to HP.

See you all there.

Oh by the way, I think we should have an ugliest truck award along with the show-n-shine. That will give me an excuse to bring my 1st Gen.

Hey Guy's,

Thanks everyone for stepping up to help out. Keep in mind we get short on help towards the end of the day. We plan on having a color TV with diesel videos playing so if ya got one bring it along. Shay and I are finializing things this week and will post information as we do.

There will be some FARM trucks around this time.

We're palnning an impromptu RMTDR meeting on the side as things are going on sometime during the day. I believe we all want to get the club off bottom and this will be the place to start doing that.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there. It is lining up to be a great time.

wouldn't it just figure....

Well, as fate would have it my diesel and I will not be able to attend the festivities, which really bites as I wanted badly to get some 'altitude correct' numbers before my own monster garage episode kicks off (Laser Bob - only a matter of time until I'm at yer door with the cores!). Sorry amigos - I'll have to catch y'all on the next one.

So what happened to keep me from jamming up there? Welll, it's a really good reason actually - A buddy of mine here in the 'Springs and I are flying out of town on the 23rd and driving back the 24th and 25th in his very own 1st gen Cummins! He found the one he wants and we're a'goin' to git it. We're taking a couple easy days to get back but I'm thinkin' it'll be well worth it, especially for me because I think my buddy was planning to steal my '93 if he didn't get one of his own... !

See ya on the flip side fellas, sounds like it's going to be a great event. Smoke 'em for me!

Update:

There will be a '57 Chevy Promod race car on display during the day. This car produces over 2500 HP and runs the 1/4 mile in the low 6s at over 230 mph. I know it doesn't run on diesel  , but it should be pretty fun to check out anyway.

Also, Hooters has agreed to participate. So, see Bob, you'll have some juggies there anyway. :-laf

But, seriously, thanks to these two new participants!

Shay

Alright, settle down you guys! Although, I'm glad that you will all be entertained if you get bored watching trucks on the dyno! :-laf

Anyways, one more donation... .

Bud's Muffler Service is donating a 4" Aeroturbine muffler and some shirts and hats. Thanks to Andy and Conrad at Bud's!!! They are great people.

Shay

Shay,

The list goes on. Many THANKS to those who made donations and to Shay for a great job. Good things just keep coming.
