Good Global warming article.

Throw the U.N. OUT!

In WA they started using calcium carbonate on the roads last winter to melt ice, before it was only sand. The DOT said that this wouldn't cause corrosion problems on vehicles, but it is big time, it is rotting out wiring, brake lines and is real hard on aluminum wheels. The center caps on my rig rusted out in one winter, I replaced with SS. For you guys in WA save your receipts for any ice melter related damage. Some folks here on the eastside are working on a class action lawsuit against the DOT to recoup all the damage it has caused. Anyone elsewhere had similar problems? This is much worse than salt damage.

In CO they are using Magnesium chloride. Nasty stuff.

So it sounds like the rust belt is expanding!? Welcome to our club guys!!! I've been convinced for years that they use salt here in Michigan as welfare for the Detroit auto companies. When I lived in California I drove up to the Sierra's all the time and simple sand worked great and didn't cause corrosion - and they have 10 times the snowfall that we have here in Michigan, but somehow sand isn't enough here!? #ad
I have 3 words for you - power wash OFTEN! Get on your back and spray that underside too!
