Just got my first issue of the Register (a whole lot of stuff to read) and saw an article on the Road Relay 4 from Cummins. It looks like a nice setup with a lot of good information on what the engine is doing.
I'm not too keen on some of the gauge setups, mostly because of the dealer getting snippy and threatening to void the warranty. I've had more than my share of problems with aftermarket add-ons and dealers.
The RR4 seems like a nice option that wouldn't give the dealer an excuse (they already seem to have enough as it is!) and it would give me a nice read out of everything EXCEPT egt.
I don't plan on doing any modifications to the motor anyway so I'm thinking I can do without the egt probe. Well, the only engine mod I've seen so far that I might be interested in is the ATS exhaust manifold and from what I understand it actually helps to reduce egt.
Does anyone have this thing? Any thoughts?
