Geno's "Road Rest"...

Okay, I'm getting ready for a trip to visit my brother. I saw in the last catalog of Geno's the "Road Rest" and wondering what people think of it. The trip is coming up quick, so I'm hoping for some quick answers from the great guys (and gals) on this site.

Thanks, Michael

I have one and like it somewhat. I bought it for myself because I seem to rest my arm on the top of the door when I'm driving longer distances. It is comfortable and functions as advertised.

With that said, it jacks your elbow up about an inch, and does take a couple minutes to get used to.

Also, it doesn't permanently attach to the door (a good and bad thing) without modification, so it likes to fly into the driver's seat when the driver shuts his door. Also, it could fall off the door when it's open, or could even find it's way out of an open window.

If I had it to do again, ~I~ would not buy one. But, I can see how someone who drives long distances would like it.

Hope all this helps.

Well, after my trip down to Florida and back and just driving around town with the Road Rest, I personally like it and haven't found it being a problem with it flying into the seat when the door closes. Now it flying out the window driving hasn't been tested yet since the weather is just not nice enough yet to go and drive with the window down, but I think it would take quite a wind to take it out or the slight nudge of the elbow to knock it out.

I'd recommend getting one if your elbow tends to hurt after a while OR you are always trying to find a place for your left arm while driving.

I went for the cheap road rest. I usually rest my elbow on the area where the inside door handle is. Would give me a sore elbow on long trips because it's not padded. So I got a neoprene elbow thing in the sports dept. at WalMart for about $7. Slip it over the elbow and it cushions anywhere you rest it. fwiw

Road rest is real nice. Had mine for a year now and i love it. It did drop out on the ground a few times till i put a strip of velcro on it and now I couldnt do with out it.
