Rob Hanson Our leader has passed away

The heart and soul of the NWbombers has passed away today in Chico California. He had been battling complication associated from Lyme disease.



Individuals who live or work in residential areas surrounded by tick-infested woods or overgrown brush are at risk of getting Lyme disease. Persons who work or play in their yard, participate in recreational activities away from home such as hiking, camping, fishing and hunting, or engage in outdoor occupations, such as landscaping, brush clearing, forestry, and wildlife and parks management in endemic areas may also be at risk of getting Lyme disease

As Rob was 49 years old, he would have been eligible to retire from the FAA at 50 (this year), which he fully intended to do (God willing). That would have been after his next birthday which would have been November 23rd, 2005.

I was looking forward to his next big NW Bombers bash - if there is one, it will have to be dedicated to his memory.

ON a related note, too often we reserve our thoughts and words of respect and praise until AFTER the individual is past the ability to appreciate them - and THAT is a shame!



Rob undoubtedly had a few of his own flaws and failures as we all do - but they ALL fall insignificant and empty in view of his loss to us all - we are all somewhat less as a group than before his passing.



Why not silently pledge ourselves to a new level of mutual respect and kindnes to each other partly in Rob's memory - and out of respect for his family - but mostly, because it's the RIGHT thing to do!



Far better to do it NOW for the living, than in memory of the dead...

Danelle, I always look at people like Rob and said..... God has bigger plans for them! Now that is sad to say when your talking to the family but he does, we just don't understand it! I keep thinking of his little girl and what an impact she has made on us giving trophy's out and being the little princess. Rob seemed to be the same way... ... . always giving, but he is now receiving!
