Baldwin PF7977. It was in the suggested item to carry thread awhile ago and it's all over the TDR. like:

To Genos credit you are one of the few online who do carry the FF5814 - the best filter I can get for aftermarket GDP (Glacier Diesel Products) filter kits.
The other reason the Oldsmobile 5.7L diesel was known as a hand grenade was all the clean and dry diesel fuel we have available all over the USA.

We still have dirty wet diesel fuel around just waiting to trash your injection system. All of the Big 3 OEM's have ignored good water separation and fuel filtration for a very long time. This now extends to filter manufacturers like Wix that have reduced the micron specs they provide to say antique diesels like my 6.5TD. Seriously Wix isn't providing a filter good enough for 25, twenty five, year old OEM specs on a low pressure injection engine that can run off really dirty fuel like used engine oil, etc.
@TCDiesel has a point. All it takes is a pinhole for a fuel and air leak. You would be amazed at how fast water will rust through steel, uncoated tanks, etc. Never mind corrosive bugs. I will take the rust through risk over not doing water separation after watching bad wet fuel ruin a complete injection system including the fuel tank to the injector tips. The other diesel fed the same bad fuel that had a CAT water separator on it only had to have the fuel tank replaced. Yes the CAT filter can was rusty as well as everything before the filter element. With the bugs clogging things up the filter didn't last long enough to rust through. The risk of water is even higher with the "do-gooders" dumping Biodiesel into our normal diesel supply. Biodiesel adsorbs water like brake fluid.
