Can anyone tell me the factory color/s used for the lower half of red two-tone trucks? My rockers/doors are starting to rust some, and I was thinking about Line-xing them instead of repainting (after properly killing the rust, of course).

Like I said, I have a red truck, and I don't want red lowers because a) It would be pain to match the Line-x to the body color, and it would probably fade at different rates, and b) I always thought the two-tone looked cool.

Black and silver are the ones that come to mind, if anyone could tell me if I'm right/wrong, or maybe, possibly even post a picture of theirs, that would be great.

TIA

mines silver if that helps any. I have seen green/silver blue/silver black/silver I think thats all they use:confused: There are the trucks that have the different color in the middle, with the same on top and bottom.

Use the lineX or Rhino hot spray in Black. I would post a picture but I've forgotten on how to do it. Pathetic huh?

Well my dumb self finally realized that I probably couldn't get silver Line-x... . duh

I found some pictures of pcarlson's white 02 with the rockers and a thin strip above the wheel wells done; I think it looks pretty slick.

I'm inclined towards black - it would probably be cheaper, and it would match the step bars I'm looking at.

Early Rams bottom color was called "Driftwood" and the later Rams were called "Bright Silver"... ... Andy

P. S. -Both colors can be sprayed by Line-X and Rhino dealers.

Thanks for the picture - now I'm inclined towards black again. Can't make up my mind... . how bad does dirt look stuck to yours? Is there any problem with the texture of the rockers, or does stuff not stick for the most part?

WD...

A photo like that makes the finger that lightly touches the trigger on my big mag very itchy as it looks like great huntin country.

Oh,your showing off your rockers,I get it. . LOL... ... Andy

Aleksei. .

Yes they can spray any color you desire,it just costs more for other colors than black. Also be sure how much or what all you want sprayed in color so they can have enough mixed for the job... ... . Andy

P. S. -WD, Could you send the original of that shot to me full size so I can have it for a screen saver?. Here is a email addy you can use... -- email address removed -- . Thanks!

ANicklas,

As you are in North Carolina and the weather there is pretty hot with lots of sun, and being as you probably are in the military and can go to hotter places, colours are not a good thing. Red turns to pink or something worse and the same for all the other colours. Black is the only one that doesn't really fade. Dirt does get in the texture but it comes out with the soap wand or high pressure wand. Make sure if you get it sprayed on that before they spray, they rough up the paint real good so the sprayed material has something to adhere to. Mine is coming off because they didn't rough up the paint. Up here It cost the same to fix one rocker panel as to do all the panels.

Hammer,

Where the picture is taken, not much up there. Is pretty high and summer is short . Some caribou up there but I haven't seen any there for over 10 years at best. Some wolf during the winter but as I don't have a snow machine, I don't go after them. Drive another 50+ miles and you will get into the bear, wolverine, wolf, some moose. Most of the animals stay off the road and in the deep woods. The one time I didn't take my rifle with me and the season was open for wolverine, I saw one running on the snow bank along side the road. Man can those things run. He would'uve been mine ifn I had my rifle by my side.

99 still called it Lt Driftwood Metallic. I owned a very nice version of it in a half ton 4x4 Quad Cab. Stupid me, I have no pics of her. She was a beauty; when I clayed her white upper body, she glowed.
