This is one of the 1st mods I made to the truck. I found this 3M safety walk tread at the local "farm" store (Paul's discount if you are so lucky) It's apparently Safety-Walk™ Fine Resilient Tread 220. It is clear 20 mil Vinyl with a light texture to it. At $1. 50 a foot (4 inch wide) I did all 4 doors for $11, and I have body color show through, which I like.
I have seen more aggressive 3M tread in gray and black at many hardware stores, but this version doesn't seem to be common.
After a couple weeks of 90F temps and it holding great, (spec to 150F) I am thinking of putting it in more places; top of the bed rails and bottom edge of doors. I wonder how it would hold up to UV. I could put paint protection film on these areas, but this is thicker and cheap.
