12 cm turbo housing

P pump in first gen

Hi Guys,

I just got done installing my set of 180 hp injectors. Oh man, what a difference :D The truck feels like a new 24-valve on power (or a tad bit more), but is better because it is a 1st gen. I got the set from a friendly Canadian who put about 5,000 miles on them. I am really impressed with my truck now. The injectors complement the 16 cm turbo housing well. I am at stock fuel settings on the pump and would like to keep it that way for maximum pump life. I can reach 20 pounds of boost with an empty truck and a big hill. My max pre turbo pyrometer readings were between 1050 and 1100F. My question is how much horsepower and torque is the engine putting out??? I don't really care about RWH as I have the wonder unmodified TC and 518 transmission (it will be BOMBed someday). I also have bumped the pump timing up to about 1. 45 mm, have a K&N air filter, 3. 5" mandrel bent straight pipe, and a 16 cm hotend on the turbo. I am just curious. It only smoked real good once and that was the first time I nailed it hard. I covered two lanes of traffic. But now I am happy to see it runs clear with a slight haze on a full throttle start. Thanks for the help as I can't wait to hear guestimates of the hp.

Hi Jeremy,

You are real close to 200hp and some were around 480ftlbs right now with light load on engine. Got to like new injectors. :D

Hey Case,

I had the same impression with my truck when I made the upgrades. I'm getting around 25-27 Psi when I push it. :D

I haven't been close to a dyno yet... . maybe some day!

Have Fun :)

Not to contradict Nascar Mark, king of first gen horsepower! But:

I'm gonna guess the same on hp, about 190. And a bit higher on torque, say 530.

Case - I have a similar setup, only difference being I'm not on a straight pipe, and PDR tuned my pump a bit. My sig should show my rear wheel numbers at 6000' of altitude fwiw.

Hey Power Wagon

Thanks for the help with the hp guys. At least I have an idea of where I stand.

Power Wagon, if you don't mind, how can I get my truck up to the 217 hp like you have done? I think I may have forgotten to mention that I turned the high speed screw CCW 1. 5 turns (will do more once I get a tach and know what is going on). Other than that the pump is stock. Is there anything I can fine tune to help with the hp? I really don't want smoke either, just clean, good power. Thanks for the help.
