Picked up my truck yesterday and drove it 1100 miles home. Things I noticed. first the steering. Well you gessed it, pulls to the right. Had to keep the steering wheel about 10 degrees to the left to keep it going straight. Second I thought the transmission was really rocking back and forth too much while drivig. That is worrying me the most, and I don't know if this is normal or not. Third an awful smell comes out when I turn on the AC. Other than that the truck drives great. Lots of power compared to the 93 12v I used to own. Also it averaged 17. 5 miles/gl
That is city/highway miles.

1. Still steering... EEK!
2. Some members posted about loose engine mounts, check or get your's checked, the 4x2 QC LWB 2500 ETH/DEE I test drove before ordering my was responsive, no bucking or rocking in the drivetrain and no stench, but the steering was very light, it went straight though.
3. Puke Can Stench Vapors, search for drip bottle fix.

Good Luck.

Yeah, the 'dancing' transmission is normal. I was real surprised when I first drove my 6spd and compared the amount of bouncing the 6spd does to the 5spd. It's because it weighs
alot more. the 5spd trans weighs 200lbs and the 6spd weighs about 340lbs. Wait until you turn into driveways at weird angles, you'll see that thing really bounce around!

Hmm. My 6 speed seems rock solid. Hardly any movement at all.

What type of stench? There is also a TSB for 'dirty socks' type smell from the a/c ducts. Involves spraying them with a disinfectant.

Steering - try a quarter turn on the adjustment on the steering box. Also check your tire pressure in the front tires.

Transmission- my does it on bumpy roads.
