3/4 ton shortbed

draggin' the box around NW New Mexico

Not my trailer I am just curious. My Father went and purchased a Forest river by Rockwood slide out fiberglass over aluminum RV the other day. I think the slide and all the fancy furnishings got him. Mom really likes the flat screen TV. Anyway dumped the old Gulfstream trailer. New one is light and I am looking forward to using it. My wife and son and I will probably use it a lot. Wanted to know if this was a quality unit or are thee items we should be watching. Anyinput is appreciated.

I have a '02 Forest River Wildcat 28BH, not sure where Wildcat falls in the Forest River family in relation to the Rockwood, but it the Wildcat seems like a decent trailer, average quality and contruction, I would say it is a good value for the money compared to other trailers in the same new price range we looked at. We bought ours used, it was like brand new, saved about 40% over what the same trailer would have costs new at one of the big online discount trailer places, the local places were a lot more and not willing to discount as much.

Bertram65,

We are looking to purchase a Wildcat in the near future. I was wondering if you have/had any problems with the clearance between the bed rails and the camper?

I have a 4x4 1 ton long bed.

Thanks

We've had our FR for almost a year now and it's been great. Warranty service has been excellent too ~ they never sqwuak about any thing we bring up and do whatever it takes to make things rite.

No problems, I have about 9" of clearance. Just got back a couple hours ago from a nice weekend up in NH with it.

We've got a Rockwood 5er and it fits the bill. Light to tow, no issues. It's an '03 that we got from a private owner. Would recommend.
