ROKKTECH timing sensor

HI, cummins people-i have a question about the ROKKTECH timing sensor.

i am interested about getting one, but i dont want to jeperdise my warranty or damage my truck in any way, i have heard very good things about it, some

people tell me the truck runs better and you get better milage and so forth.

is there a negative side to this ?, and if there is i would really like to hear

about it.

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. Since my new truck has plenty of towing power I want to protect the warranty by remaining stock but if a minor mod like a timing change which is basically undetectable by the dealer works, I'm very interested.

Will these sensors work for a 2nd gen? My buddy has a 2000 and wants to know if he can do this to his truck. Any ideas?

Nothing yet for 2nd gen trucks. rokktech.com is their site. I have one that I just installed so I can't give a review yet. A few people have had them long enough to develop an opinion and they seem to like the MPG improvement, I've seen claims of up to 3 mpg empty and 1-1. 5 mpg while towing. Alot say they feel like it has more bottom end and that it idles quieter. I haven't noticed the last 2 but hope to notice a good MPG improvement. The penalty seems to be an increase in Nox in the exhaust and there was a blurb in the install instructions about if you experience any pinging after the install, what to do to correct it. Mine doesn't ping and haven't heard of any that have. Their website explains what performance boxes you can use in conjunction with the crankshaft position sensor as it advances timing 2 degrees.
