Competition Weekend On The EDGE

Off Roading RCD 6" long arm / Mickey thomp tires

I am now needing to build a functional roll bar / headache rack for my 92 W350. I am looking for ideas and what size steel to make it out of. I would like it strong enough to protect the occupants in the case of a bad rollover (too steep, backwards, over on top) Not that I am planning anything like that, but I do like overkill. I also like taking my full size truck on jeep trails.

Thx.

Ken

do you want just a real roll bar (not a light bar) or a full cage? if cage, interior or exterior? do you want to buy a kit and weld it up or build it all yourself?

Exterior Roll bar, Real, not for show. I would like to combine it with a headache rack that will let me haul long lumber etc from time to time.

My truck is for mild work, daily driving, and occasional trails. We have some fun trails here and upside down is not in my plan, but it does happen from time to time. I hate the thought of hitting something too steep or going sideways and rolling down to a stop with no protection.

I agree, DOM tubing from what I have been reading, but what size for a fullsize Cummins truck?

I couldn't find my way through what SCORE stuff I could locate to find a guide.

Thx,

Ken
