There was thread about a "red nipple" on rollover valve. Consencus was it shouldn't be there.
Mine had it. I took it off. Now I'm wondering if crud can be sucked into tank. Appreciate any help.

Thanks Diesel Ram. I guess I'm thick headed.
Called the DC 800# to ask about. They didn't
know anything about. Talked to two different
dealers, they didn't know anything about it.
But they both said "If it's there leave it".
"And all the new pickups have it. "
Went out in his yard, crawled under 5 new diesel rams. Not a one had it. I advised him and he said he better check.
Thanks to the list mine's off.

Contrary to popular belief, that red cap belongs there. Check the service manual (25-27, 25-34). That is an auxilary fitting and the cap is supposed to remain on it.

Darn if these manuals aren't worth the money!

Might want to put it back on if you still have it.

Darn,I have the 2000 Service Manual,Ram Truck
I can find no reference to the red nipple on the rollover valve. There is a picture of the
fuel tank module. . and the only thing capped is the aux inlet. It has a clamp on it,and is vertical. The rollover valve in the picture has no nipple.
