I'd like to be able to do burnouts with the big diesel, but these rear disc brake just don't allow it in dry pavement. Anybody have a cure for this, i. e. some type of rear brake dissconnect or the like? Yes, my truck is still stock... . Let's get going over there at Edge with that new box!!!

I've been running about 45 psi in the rear for runnin' empty... . maybe if I full 'em up to 65. I know this is real serious stuff, but we all have to have some fun once in a while.

If I let up on the brake pressur the truck just moves forward. Have you tried it with your '03? The disc brakes seem to make it much harder than previous gens.

Man I hit a little patch of water from a sprinkler this morning leaving a stoplight in front of an exxon station, 1st thing to happen since this has not occurred to me in this truck yet was for both rears to bust loose, then the rear end to shift sideways nearly obliterating a geo storm so I nailed as far into the floor as it would go. needless to say that burnout kicked assOo.

I used to pump the brake a little in my 99', it's kin of a feel thing, but once the turbo got spooled it'd put on a show bone stock!

dPierce,

I have done lots of burnouts in my 03 with no problem. Once you put the throttle to the floor and apply only enough brake to stop it from moving..... wait about 5 seconds and they will start smoking no problem. Just keep the hammer down:D Mine is bone stock as well until tomorrow anyway;)

Blakers,

I don't think I dropped it into low, but I may have.

I'd hold the brake and punch the throttle, once the R's started coming up, I'd let up on the brake pressure until the truck just started to roll and then apply a little more pressure to stop it again and by that time they were usually starting to roll over ... ... ..... may have to do that a couple times depending on the surface.

Listen to this thread will ya ... ... ... ... ... we sound like a bunch of 16 year olds doing our first power jack :-laf

dPierce, stick it in drive, hold your right foot to the floor and ease off the brake just a tad. Once you hit around 2000 rpm the tires will start cranking and you can hit the brake slightly harder to hold it still. Hey, if my SO can do it, I know your HO will. I mean, not that I've ever done that or anything. :D What's really fun is when the truck breaks loose when shifting into second gear. It takes the Bully Dog to make that happen though.

Got her done!

I got it figured out. As somebody else here said, it's all about lettin; her spool up first, then letting off the brake and even pumping it a little. Once they loose traction it all good!
