first post- I would like to say first that I have been a lurker and have tried to be a researcher of old threads. I appreciate the professionalism here and have recently bought my first 12v. I am starting to gut the interior to replace the carpet amongst other things. I have an interior leak towards the rear of the cab, I noticed it the other day when it was raining. Water would run from the rear towards the front of the truck along under the kick/scuff plate at the door. I noticed I am missing the roof joint molding on both sides. I looked in the service manual for the part number which (might be the part number...or a number designating the illustration) but it says J9423-178. I can’t find “roof joint molding” for a 97 club cab anywhere. Any help guys? Thanks

Welcome Brian. My truck, as well as others, have had similar leak as you've stated. Most often it is caused by the "third" tail light gasket failing. You can get a new gasket and use some perma-tex to seal things up, or just remove it, perma-tex it and re-install. I did this (seal and re-install) many years back and it hasn't leaked since. As far as the roof joint molding... "maybe" LMC Truck??? Although I doubt your leak is from these joints. Try the simple fix first and go from there. Congrats on the "new to you" 12v. Enjoy

Oh, create a signature describing your truck so when you post other folks don't have to ask "what year" etc. Go to the top right of the page, click on your name and you'll see "Signature" from there it's self-explanatory
